Ford Auto Parts

Filed under: Car Transport — admin at 8:41 pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2008

Whether you are a Ford enthusiast or not you might need Ford auto parts. Of course you can buy your parts in a dealership or in local parts stores, but the best options are online; online, you can get new or used parts and accessories for almost any Ford models through the time. It’s easy and very convenient; you can just do a simple search in one of the major search engines with the model you want plus the part you want. There are usually two kinds of buyers of Ford parts online

  • people that drives a Ford regularly who have noticed that vehicle parts can be purchased cheaper and easier on the internet and
  • Ford enthusiasts who are collecting and restoring old models.

Let’s say you are in the last group mentioned above and that you want to fix up an old Fairlane, Galaxie or Mustang. The nice thing with the internet is that the parts you need for the restoring are right at the front of your thoughts. There are loads of websites offering parts like, specialized Ford part online stores, websites for Ford clubs or enthusiasts, classified ad websites, old car model directories, online forums that are targeted to Ford enthusiasts etc.

Of course you can go to your local dealership. Another nice thing with internet however, is that the selection is so tremendously larger than you can find in any local dealership. And the likehood of getting what you want for a cheaper price compared to a local dealer is high. And that is a good thing as well, especially if you have old model restoring as a hobby. Why pay more for a part than necessary, no matter how old and rare it is? Yet another benefit with the internet is that the internet auto stores and part dealerships are available 24 hours 7 days a week. You can search for and order a part when you want, from the comfort of your home. And high quality web dealerships also ships your ordered parts in a matter of days. Beat that!

Ford is one of the few automobile companies that have outlasted all the challenges it faced throughout its long and turbulent history. Established way back in 1903, it still remains as one of the major manufacturers in the automotive industry. If you are the lucky owner of a Ford, be proud and rest assured that almost any part you’re going to need is available at the tips of your fingers, from your own home thanks to the internet.

Make Your Dream Car Your Own With A Car Loan

Filed under: Loans Center — admin at 4:11 pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2008

There was a time when people used to save money from their salaries to build up finances for realising their dreams, but now the modern age man believes in materialising all his dreams as quickly as possible. The easy availability of credit has facilitated this change. So if you dream of driving the best car in the globe then a car loan can help you make your dream come true.

A car loan is given by a lender to purchase a car. There are two options available to you for car Loans. You can either go for a secured car loan or you can opt for an Unsecured Car Loan. If you choose a secured car loan you’ll be charged with low interest rate. The APR percentage will be low. Also, the monthly installments will be small and the loan repayment period will be flexible according to your affordability.

On the other hand, an unsecured Car Loan will have a bit higher rate of interest in comparison to unsecured car loans. The monthly installments will be bigger unlike in the case of secured loans. This is because an unsecured loan is approved without any collateral whereas a secured loan is provided against collateral.

With the introduction of Internet and online shopping, procuring a car loan has become easier. This requires not much effort from your side, as you just have to fill up an online loan application form to apply for the loan. The lenders will take care of all the arrangements and formalities required in procuring a car loan. So, if you need a car loan don’t wait anymore. Sit in front of your computer, find a good creditor by exploring the market online, choose a loan which you wish to avail and fill up the form.

10 Simple Ways to Pay Less & Get Free Upgrades for Any Hotel Room

Filed under: Web Of Travel — admin at 2:31 pm on Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Book Early & Be Flexible

Almost all hotels have a limited amount of rooms at the best rates and are usually available to the first few that reserve on a particular date. All hotels want a full house and strive for this every night. To get the best prices book early and try to be flexible with your dates.

Book for Off-Seasons

You’ll find the best rates for a hotel room during the off-season when the hotel tends to have empty rooms. Hotels generally have great prices during the week and business hotels in the downtown area during the weekends when their customers are at home.

Check for Combination Offers

You might be able to get even more by booking your room along with certain airlines or attraction tickets.

Ask if You’re Eligible for a Special Rate

Corporate rate: in general anyone with a personal business card with a company name and address on it could qualify. Most hotels are pretty lenient with this. You won’t know until you ask. Government rate - in most cases if you work for the military or federal government most hotels will give you a special rate if you ask for one. In most cases if you are a local or state employee hotels will also offer you the same discounts if you ask.

“Cash In” Your Points

See if you can redeem your accumulated frequent flyer points for a better hotel room. You might be surprised at what other perks they might offer you.

See What Consolidators Offer

See if your hotel room will be cheaper through a consolidator as they buy large blocks of rooms and often pass on the savings to you.

Look for Hidden Specials

Call the hotel chain’s national 1-800 number and also check with the hotel directly, since operators may be offering a special which either is aware of. Also surf to the hotels own website, sometime they offer hidden internet only specials that are not available anywhere else.

Complain

If you are unhappy with your accommodations, speak up and make it known that you would like to be compensated with a better room. If your hotel room is close to a noisy utility unit complain and demand to be compensated.

Schmooze

Schmoozing will ensure that you’re remembered by the hotel staff, which can come in handy in your pursuit for an upgrade, especially if you stay in at the same hotel regularly.

Don’t Get Stuck

Most hotels will keep a reservation until 6p.m., if you plan on arriving later ask to guarantee the room with a credit card. If you are delayed en route, call the hotel and ask to hold your reservation until you arrive. Get a card with the hotel’s name, address and telephone on it in case you get lost exploring. Also, most established hotels have checkout times ranging from 11a.m. to 2p.m. If you need additional time request it in advance as you may be charged an additional night.

The Healing Arts: 18 Things Healers Learn, #14; Everybody Is Somebody’s Trickster

Filed under: Medical Parlor — admin at 10:26 am on Tuesday, April 29, 2008

The Trickster lives in all cultures. It is sometimes called the Contrary, the Joker, the Fool, Heyoka, or Coyote. Same concept: This person does things a whole lot different than anybody else. Yes, sometimes wreaking havoc but the end result is always a lesson. Because this lives in all cultures, it also lives in each of us. It, too, is part of being human.

Who among us has not fulfilled that role for others at some time or another in their lives? In a world where we simply have been designed to have different perceptions of the same events, this is inevitable. What is bizarre behavior to others can easily be a routine part of another individual’s experience.

Think back to some of the most impactful lessons you’ve received. Have they all come from familiar places or spaces in your life, or have they come from far out in left field, grabbing you by the soft spot and spinning you into new territory?

Sometimes the Trickster has only one lesson: Don’t take yourself so damn seriously! Oddly enough, the most healing medicine of all, Laughter, is something that so often must be imposed on us. Is that the most ridiculous thing in the world? It’s worth a laugh…go on, give us a Yelp!

Some people, by nature, appear to take on the role of the Trickster. They seem to flow with a different current than the rest of us. Some are even aware of their purpose, and those are usually the ones that, no matter how twisted, exhibit a sense of having fun in the process. They enjoy being a FunHouse mirror that reflects anything BUT what the viewer wants to see.

Some of those who recognize their purpose also express it in the most annoying, rather than comical, ways. They’re the ones we want to haul off and smack right in the nose. Good Teachers, if you can loosen yourself up enough to see the value and stay out of jail in the process!

My Trickster can be your best friend. While I might want to strangle him, you will seek his embrace because the very same quality I detest is the one you adore. Go figure. In all cases, though, the Trickster calls upon us to look deeper than we’re usually willing to look on our own.

The effect of the Trickster is much the same as walking across a room, slipping on something and there you are; looking up at the world from a completely different perspective. The Trickster affects a shift where things unseen become seen, where a new angle on the view allows a clearer understanding of the event; once again, if, and only if you’ll take the time to see it.

If you’re here, you’re going to get tricked. It’s one of the Life-Force’s most potent tools. The power of the element of surprise resulting from suddenly being put off balance often forces you to adjust and come to stability through means of which you never had conceived. Once aware of how you can call on reserves you never knew you had, you become more capable of seeking out alternative solutions to whatever you face.

To be the Trickster all the time, however, is to limit your tool kit. When it’s a driven thing, like a stand-up comic who must always be on!, it becomes all about the comic, not the audience.

Developing the Trickster as a tool is all about developing sensitivity to the moments of your own experience. Turning the concept into a conscious act means identifying instances in your own life where you were turned upside down. Take a good look at your own comfort zone at the time, how it was challenged, and what your recovery looked or felt like.

The details of what happened in each incident are not as important as the overall flow of the experience. Ask yourself if your experience of the “teacher’s” intent felt invasive, controlling, or benevolent. As important are the timing and rhythm of the interaction. To recognize when the “lesson” popped up, how long it stayed active, how it affected you emotionally, and then how it moved you into the next moment are touchstones that you can refer back to for guidance.

To be a conscious Trickster is not about having a plan of action and a lesson to deliver. It is not about the particulars. It is all about recognizing the moment, being within it in relation to the others involved, and then allowing the lesson to come through you.

And why not? Why not allow this to be a part of your tool kit as a healer? You’re going to end up doing it anyway, so you may as well enjoy it! The most potent Tricksters pull the rug out from under you but catch you in a bucket of down-filled pillows. It can be as simple as incorporating a sense of irony or play into the work you do and sharing that part of yourself, for the good of all.

7 Easy Remedies to Soothe Nighttime Heartburn and Indigestion

Filed under: Food And More — admin at 9:51 am on Tuesday, April 29, 2008

Who hasn’t bolted upright in the night, awakened by a sudden and
terrible burning sensation in the pit of their stomach? Whether
you indulged in some overly spicy chili, or overdid it on those
late-night leftovers, these quick heartburn remedies will soothe
your fiery stomach and help you get back to sleep!

1. The first thing you’ll want to do when you’re awakened by
heartburn pain, is to stand up. This helps keep the acid at bay
while you go and get a full glass of cool water.

2. Drink the whole glass of water, and follow it with a mixture
of 1 tablespoon of baking soda, and half a glass of water. Be
careful though, if you have high blood pressure or are pregnant,
this can cause water retention or increase your blood pressure.

3. DON’T drink milk or suck on mints to relieve heartburn. Milk
might feel nice and cool going down, but it actually contains
fats and proteins that cause your stomach to secrete MORE acid
and make your heartburn worse! Mints, while they may feel
soothing, actually relax the small valve between your esophagus
and stomach, whose purpose it is to actually KEEP acid at bay!
When this valve is relaxed, more acid can seep up and aggravate
heartburn symptoms!

4. This is going to sound strange, but downing a teaspoon of
vinegar can help soothe heartburn immediately! Why give your
stomach MORE acid when it already seems to have enough, you ask?
Sometimes, heartburn is caused as a result of too little acid,
and vinegar helps quell indigestion by giving your stomach a
little extra “juice” (no pun intended!) to do its job!

5. Certain foods can cause nighttime heartburn, including: soda
pop or beverages with caffeine (which you shouldn’t be drinking
before bed anyway!), alcohol, garlic, chocolate (sorry!), citrus
fruits, tomatoes and tomato-based products. Avoiding these types
of food can help ease your indigestion if you frequently find
yourself awakened with that intolerable burning!

6. Eating a banana each day works like an antacid to soothe
heartburn. If you’re already stricken with indigestion, eating
pineapple or papaya (or drinking the juice) can help settle your
stomach naturally. Some people also claim that eating a teaspoon
of mustard (yuck!) can work immediately.

7. Avoid eating at least two hours before you go to sleep. Those
late night snacks can keep your stomach busy all night and
prevent you from easing into a deep, restful sleep. You may also
find that sleeping on your left side or sleeping at a somewhat
upright angle can keep acid down where it belongs.

If you are awakened by heartburn on a regular basis, or the pain
is severe, or if you have heartburn with vomiting, you’ll want
to consult your doctor immediately as it may be a sign of a more
serious condition such as an ulcer. Above all, avoid spicy,
fatty and caffeine-containing foods before bed, and you should
be able to drift off to sleep easily.

Sweet dreams!

iPod Shortages During Holidays

Filed under: Computing World — admin at 2:47 pm on Monday, April 28, 2008

Even though the holiday season is still a little ways off,
retailers are already reporting that shortages of Apple’s uber
popular iPod mp3 player are very likely. As has been a problem
with iPod’s, especially with the popular iPod Nano being
released and the video enabled iPod hitting shelves, is that
there simply aren’t enough of them. Apple can’t make them fast
enough to meet the ridiculously high demand.

As Businessweek reports, “”All iPods are in very tight supply,
and Apple isn’t filling 100% of its orders from us by any
means,” says Charlie Tebele, president of Manhattan-based RCS
Experience. And Crutchfield’s Anderson says Apple typically
ships less than 30% of what the retailer requests each week. The
Charlottesville (Va.)-based company put in an order for $3
million worth of iPod nanos after the product was released, and
the order still hasn’t been nearly filled. It currently has $4
million of all iPod models on order.”

The question of where there will be shortages isn’t really a
question at all, predict most analysts. Shortages are
practically guaranteed. The only question at this point is how
bad the shortages will be. No one knows how many stores will
sell out and have barren shelves when shoppers walk in looking
for an iPod to buy as a gift for the holidays. Needless to say,
it would be well advised to head out and buy that gift as soon
as possible rather than wait until the holiday rush.

Helpful Tips On Hardwood Floor Care

Filed under: Living With Home Improvement — admin at 2:02 pm on Monday, April 28, 2008

Just like anything else in today’s times, if you can’t find it on the internet, then it can’t be had. That being said, if you have spent the money to buy a good hardwood floor, then you are going to want to learn good hardwood floor care to protect your investment, and it is an investment since it can bring the resale value up on your house by at least 10% if not more. Hardwood floors are beautiful and depending on what type of hardwood used, how much of an up keep and maintenance on your hardwood floors. Here are some general tips on hardwood floor care.

Solid hardwood flooring, like all solid wood, is a natural insulator. The cleaners used in your hardwood floor care will also help keep the natural insulation in the wood. It’s made of microscopic hollow cells and these air spaces produce high insulating values. It would take 15 inches of concrete to equal the insulating qualities of just one inch of wood. Appearance alone can often determine the grade of each hardwood flooring piece. All grades are equally strong and serviceable in any application. Flooring generally free of eye catching blemishes is known as “Clear”, though it still may contain burls, streaks and pinworm holes. “Select” is almost clear, but this grade contains more of the natural color variations and characteristics such as knots and other marks.

The “Common” grades, No. 1 and No. 2, have more markings than either of the other two grades and are often specified because of these widely varied natural features and the “strong” character they bring to floors. Grades are sometimes combined (i.e., “Select & Better”). Product combinations, such as short pieces or specific grain direction, Quartered and/or Rift, may also be separated by the manufacturer. When you purchase your hardwood floor, be sure to ask them about this specific hardwood floor care, for the type of floor you are getting.

It’s the surface finishes that are very popular since they protect hardwood floors, their durable, water-resistant and require minimum maintenance, a good finish will determine how tough or easy your hardwood floor care will be. Most are made of synthetic resins and are often referred to as urethanes or polyurethanes and give hardwood surfaces a protective coating. These resins come in high-gloss, semi-gloss, and satin finishes. In order to keep your hardwood floors looking beautiful for years, your floor needs to be dust mopped, swept, or vacuumed regularly. Only use a manufacturer’s recommended cleaner and sand, buff, and recoat your floor when the surface no longer shines after cleaning. Depending on the amount of traffic your floor gets will decide how often it will need to be refinished. As long as you use good hardwood floor care techniques your hardwood floors should last a few good years before you need to refinish.

You Can Prevent the Potential European and Asian Dominance of the Internet Marketing Business

Filed under: Hall Of Websters — admin at 4:11 pm on Sunday, April 27, 2008

If your site is still in English - only, you are not alone. You are actually in the company of about 75% of businesses. This gives European and Asian based companies a tremendous advantage, as most of them already offer Multilingual Websites - Europeans have a long-standing tradition of using multilingual Marketing practices.

European and Asian businesses are more experienced with International Multilingual Marketing.

Remember because the Internet really is Global, you could have a competitor you don’t even know about located in Europe or Asia, reaching out to your customer base. Furthermore, depending on the extent of information offered on your site, your pricing, distribution and other business models can be studied by anyone with a web browser.

Not only will you be losing business by not reaching out to foreign markets, you may even be risking your current market. If you have a site on the World Wide Web, you have already, by definition, “gone global”. Don’t be surprised if there are some who reach your site and are offended at not having their Language preferences addressed.

If that isn’t enough to convince you that the market demand exists to make your Website multilingual, then consider this;

* You automatically have a potential client base of 500+ million people worldwide, mainly consisting of well-educated 25-50-year-olds.

* By being on the web, You are already accessible 24 hours a day regardless of time differences.

* The advent of the Euro has made it much easier to break into the European markets.

* Non-native English speakers make up 95% of the world’s population.

* There are only six main countries where English is the mother tongue - Australia, United Kingdom, United States, Canada, New Zealand and South Africa.

* The rapid rise of a multilingual, multicultural on-line community

* The exponential increase of internet users who do not understand English

And most importantly, if wish to prevent the potential of European and Asian dominance of the Internet Marketing business, then consider meeting the world on its own terms - with A multilingual, multicultural Website offering Your Product or Service. It’s not as expensive or as complicated as you may think.

Make Your Site Multilingual

Your Website is primarily a marketing tool you use to promote Yourself, A Product or a Service. You have built it and posted it because you want people to spend time looking at it. Keeping people interested and coming back to your site is the Hard Bit. People will spend more time and come back more often to sites that are in their native language and appeal to their cultural sensibilities.

Claiming that English sites are sufficient because most people who surf the Web speak English simply is not a valid call from a marketing standpoint. There is also the issue that business already on the Web have worldwide visibility and by ignoring millions in your audience by not addressing their linguistic and cultural preferences you could even be going as far as to insult them.

Almost everyone in Sweden and Holland speak English, but studies there show that they prefer to search the Internet in their native languages.

Research has shown us time again that web users are up to four times more likely to purchase when addressed in their native language, while visitors will stay for twice as long on a site displayed in their own language. The percentage of multilingual users greatly varies from one country to another.

The majority of people using the Internet speak a language other than English, most of these are able to search and surf only in their native language. Therefore web site translation and Multilingual Marketing are undoubtedly key Internet marketing strategies, That should be implemented as soon as possible.

The rapid rise of a truly multilingual, multicultural on-line World has significant implications for companies competing in the International marketplace and in local markets where they have to deal with language-specific communities.

The exponential increase of Internet users who do not understand English Implies that conducting your online business in multiple languages will be the difference between survival and extinction.

5 Quick and Easy Tips To Prevent That Next Hangover

Filed under: Food And More — admin at 1:37 pm on Sunday, April 27, 2008

Remember after the last party waking up with the feeling of
cotton in your mouth? With it came a swirling headache that
turned into jungle drums. On top of it all, your stomach kept
playing at acrobatics for hours. It kind of felt like your body
was having a carnival, without you, right?

That’s the effect a hangover can have if you drink too much,
mix liquors, or if you’re not used to drinking much at all.
Alcohol poisoning is no fun, although events leading up to it
may be. Before heading out with your pals to the next swinging
party or celebration, keep the following tips in mind so you
won’t have to deal with the leftover sick feeling late at night
or the next day.

1. Eat before you go. Munch on a few crackers, a sandwich, or
even a salad to get something in your stomach before drinking
alcoholic beverages. Drinking on an empty stomach is a sure-fire
way to get drunk fast and pollute your bodily systems. While at
your place of imbibing, remember to nibble on something to eat
from time to time to keep your stomach from getting empty. This
will help your digestive tract to process the alcohol more
effectively.

2. Take it easy. Don’t chug your liquor. Sip on it, nice and
slow. This will help you enjoy its effects rather than be rushed
into inebriation. Take in all the party enjoyments, such as
music, companionship, food, and more. Liquor should accent
rather than dominate your party experience. Keep an eye on the
clock and pace your drinking so you don’t lose track of how many
you have.

3. Stop in good time. Don’t guzzle all night long. Know your
limit, and stop when you reach it. Don’t let anyone talk you
into drinking more than you should. Never be drawn into
competition with other drinkers, or you could end up in deep
trouble if they drink long and hard.

4. Don’t mix liquors. Starting with beer and moving to mixed
drinks, and from there, to whiskey, is a bad idea. With varying
alcohol levels and uneven textures, your stomach could really
get upset. Stay with one or maybe two types at most, the lower
strength, the better. You can always try another kind the next
time you go out. 5. Stay away from bootleg. You never really
know what you’re getting in terms of strength, quality, or
potency. If you’re with people you don’t know very well and
black out, you could face serious problems. Even among friends,
though, bootleg can vary from one batch to another, so it’s best
to stay away from it altogether.

Plan to get at least eight hours of sleep after the
celebration. This will give your body time to metabolize the
liquor, and you may be able to sleep off most of its effects.
Drink a little bit at a time, eat sensibly while you’re at it,
and go home in plenty of time to get some rest.
